Location
Martinselkonen Eräkeskus Wilds Centre is located in the north part of municipality of Suomussalmi, in a place called Pirttivaara. There is 2 km to the Russian border in the east, and the distance to the municipality centre Ämmänsaari is 65 km.
Arrival by air
Nearest airport are Kajaani and Kuusamo. Finnair and Lufthansa flies to Kuusamo airport ja DAT to Kajaani. From Kajaani and Kuusamo is about 2 hours drive to Martinselkonen. You can rent a car from the airports or order transfer service from us. Oulu airport is 4 hours drive from our Centre, there is more flights and also straight flights from abroad. Please note that from Oulu airport we arrange transfer service only for groups.
Arrival by train
The nearest train station is in Kajaani. You can find the train timetables from vr.fi. From Kajaani is 2 hours drive to us. You can rent a car or order transfer service from us.
Arrival by bus
By Bus you can sometimes get as far as Ämmänsaari/Suomussalmi, which is still 1 hours drive from us. The bus timetables you can find from matkahuolto.fi. You can order a transfer from us from Ämmänsaari to Martinselkonen.
Summer time there is also bus connection from Kuusamo to Hossa National Park. Hossa is 50km from our Centre. We can arrange the transfer from Hossa to us.
